What: Ft Harrison State Park Visitors Center

Landscape, Nature and History blend in a unique setting in northeast Indianapolis at Ft Harrison State Park. Come to the Visitors Center to view exhibits and experience the preserved Citizens Military Training Camp, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Headquarters, and WWII Prisoner of War Camp. We will also learn about the original settling of this land wildlife. This tour is different from the tour several years ago that Jeanne Lugo conducted of Ft Harrison. There is no cost to tour the center, however entry to the park is $& per car *which we must pay to enter to get to the Visitor Center, unless you already have a 2025 Indiana State Park Pass).
Please let u know if you already have a Indiana State park pass and are willing to meet us near to the entrans and carpool to the Visitor Center. If you want to go lunch afterwards, I can provide recommendations near by.
What: Tour of the Hamilton County Historical Society Museum, Old Sheriff’s Residence and Jail

Join us on our guided tour of the 1876 building in downtown Noblesville on thecourthouse square. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum houses fully restored Victorian rooms, a research library, and jail cells that have held many notorious criminals such as John Dillinger, Charles Manson, and the Ku Klux Klan leader D.C. Stephenson. If you read the book “Fever in the Heartland”, you will find this tour of particular interest. We will not be able to go into the next door Hamilton County Courthouse as court will be in session, but you can certainly walk around the town square and admire the courthouse architecture. There is no charge for the tour, but donations are appreciated. We will plan on lunch at a nearby restaurant after the tour.
What: Tour the Randolph County Asylum, the current and third building, dating to 1899 and is known in the paranormal community as a hotbed of activity! The building has hosted TV Shows like Paranormal Lockdown, Destination Fear, and Kindred Spirits and has served as the location for several movies. We will visit Mrs. Wick’s Bakery & Café in Winchester afterwards for a slice of their amazing pies!
When: Wednesday, October 15, the Asylum Tour is at 10:00am – 1:00ish and Mrs.Wick’s is after that. The café portion of Mrs. Wick’s closes at 2:00pm so if you want more than pie we need to start our tour on time please. Pie Shop is open until 5:00pm.
Where: Randolph County Asylum, 1882 US-27, Winchester, IN 47394. This is located just south of Winchester, IN across from the county fairgrounds. The building’s distinctive twin witches hat towers make it easy to find. Parking is available to the left side of the driveway as you pull in. Mrs. Wick’s Bakery & Café, 100 Cherry Street, Winchester, IN 47394. They make 36 varieties of pie each day.

Incidentals: We are having a private history tour of the Asylum $25.00 is the admission price per individual and they will accept either cash or credit cards. There are 4 floors so lots of stairs and unfortunately no elevator. Please be prepared to climb a bit and wear appropriate shoes. Parts of the building are climate controlled but not all, so have a light jacket or sweater with you. There are 2 public bathrooms in the building but only on the main floor. Carpooling is highly recommended.
