What: The Baker-Johnson-Picket Farmstead was in danger of being demolished and becoming a lost piece of history. The 1850 farmhouse and barn tie back to the Quaker settlement and Underground Railroad. Learn how they were deconstructed and reconstructed at Field Gate Farm in conjunction with the Indiana Landmark Society.
When: Thursday, October 1st at 10:30 AM. Please arrive by 10:15 AM with your food donations.
In leu of an entry fee the owners request that we bring food donations for Mama’s Cupboard (mamascupboard.org), a local Food Pantry serving residents in the Sheridan, IN School district. We will collect them upon arrival to the farm.
Where: Fieldgate Farms, 647 W. 266th St., Sheridan, IN. 46069. Fieldgate Farm is a family owned boutique farm located near Sheridan, Indiana. The 80-acre homestead is home to Colonial Village Labradoodles, Gypsy Vanner Horses, Valais Blackness Sheep and Highland Cattle. The farm includes the historic 1850 homestead and barn, along with a greenhouse.
