What: "Sweden/ Sverige: The Land of the Midnight Sun"- Sweden or Sverige in Swedish, is also known as the 'Land of the Midnight Sun'. Swedish native Ingrid Wiebke will delve into the heart of Swedish society, known for its commitment to equality and sustainability. From gender equality policies to environmental initiatives, Sweden sets a global benchmark for social progress. We will explore the nation's deep-rooted traditions and vibrant festivities and uncover Sweden's storied past and its role in shaping European history. We will learn about the indigenous Sami people- guardians of Sweden's northernmost regions who have preserved their cultural heritage amidst changing times. Ingrid will also talk about the achievements of famous Swedes, from Nobel laureates to cultural icons, who have left a mark on the world stage. Finally, we will embark on a journey to explore the sights and sounds of Stockholm, Sweden's capital city, where historic landmarks, cultural treasures, and modern marvels await discovery.
