    Once every two years, the Eiteljorg Museum exhibits the art of active Native American artists who have been chosen for one of the coveted fellowship awards.

    This special exhibit is always very unique and especially appreciated for the contemporary interpretation of a cultural group that has much artistic ability.


    What: Tour by Dorene Red Cloud, curator of Native American art at the Eiteljorg Museum

    Where: Eiteljorg Museum 500 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46204

    When: Friday, January 28

    We should gather by the entry desk between 12:30 and 12:45, with the tour beginning at 1:00 pm

    If you are not a member of the museum, visitors will need to purchase a ticket.Seniors tix are $12, other adults $15.AAA members get $2 off admission price.

    All types of needle/yarn arts, styles and techniques are welcome. Some instruction can be provided, especially for knitting and crochet. Each month educational demonstration will be presented. Topic will be published in monthly notification email one week before each meeting.

    This group is intended for members with some knowledge of French. Under the guidance of Jeannine, our expert on all things French, we read and discuss articles in French. Some of the subjects discussed include: cooking, travel, history, etiquette.... Speaking French helps the participants improve their comprehension, grammar as well as spoken French. We meet on Zoom the 2nd Monday and the 4th Monday of the month at 9.45 am and 12.45 pm respectively.     This group meets to talk about books of contemporary interest.  Our members bring widely different backgrounds and varied perspectives to the discussions, and we come away with a deepened understanding of the issues.  Our discussions are always spirited and interesting.  We usually meet on the third Tuesday of the month.

    French Conversation Group will meet on the first Tuesday of the month. This group welcomes people who want to practice their French by discussing a given topic. This group is not a class. All skill levels are more than welcome (beginners, intermediate, advanced).

    Would you like to learn more about shopping at a women's retail store? Have you wondered about the sizing of clothes,sales, and returning items?

    Would you like to learn more about what to say to someone helping you? Then please join us at this meeting in February. The manager of JJill in the Fashion Mall, has volunteered to speak to our group in the store. This is open to any IWI member that would like to attend. We may eat lunch in the food court following our meeting at JJill.

    Our first time to meet in 2022 will be on January 26. We have not been to an American Soul Food place for a long time. Let's go to the newly remodeled Mississippi Belle. Closed for about a year and a half due to a fire, they are now open and sporting a fresh new look. The food, I hear, is just as great. So, please do join us.

    In these challenging times let's spread a little love and join together to celebrate Valentine's Day on Saturday evening, February 12. The host can choose her favorite dishes, hopefully some involve chocolate! The cost of the food will be shared equally.

    Email Sarah Gray if you would like to take part in a Valentine's Day dinner. If you can host on February 12 please let me know the number of people you can seat. Priority to take part in this dinner is given to those who have previously hosted.
